While Black Cherry may not be her latest album, I strongly encourage you to download this - whether you are a fan of electro/dance music or not. Black Cherry drips with sexuality. I've never been known to dance (I'm quite a stiffy, unfortunately), but everytime I pop in Black Cherry, I have to get up and dance. I've had to learn to be careful about that, though... For instance, if you know you are going to get up and dance whilst listening to a song, like say my favorite, "Twist" then don't stand around in your room in a towel and turn the song on the loudest volume possible. Because your window just might be open. And you just might be dancing at the exact time that your little brother's school bus is driving by. And your little brother's friends just might see you and want to come over to your house more often. Not saying that it happened to me *cough* just giving a little warning.

If you download nothing else, at least give "Twist" a listen. Sexy times. ♥

One of the first, if not THE first, Heavy Metal band to use the J.R.R. Tolkien's books as a source of inspiration. An awakening that would eventually become the now classic "Battle At Helm's Deep" album. Mind you, this is long before bands like Hammerfall and Blind Guardian came into existence! In recent times, the band has enjoyed one the best comebacks to ever occur in many years! The band has now come, quite literally, full circle.

I've had a couple questions about the Ark discography not working. Unfortunately, I do not have these files anymore (my laptop crashed) and thus cannot re-upload anything. If I come across the albums, I will gladly share them but for now let's just assume I can do nothing.

A piece of advice for those with requests: check out the Livejournal communities I've listed on the sidebar. I've discovered a lot of new music using these communities and they are great for getting what you want getting it fast.

And then there's always the option of buying music from Amazon or a local music store. I understand this isn't always possible as some albums are quite hard to find, but it is the "legal way", yo.

Sorry for the inconvenience! I'll be uploading some newer, more unheard of music this week. Mostly female vocals and cabaret, but a few surprises in between.

Wolfsheim - Spectators

Wolfsheim is a synthpop band from Hamburg, Germany. The band was founded in 1987 by Markus Reinhardt and Pompejo Ricciardi — they were inspired by the name of a fictional character from F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

Reinhardt's brother Oliver Reinhardt joined the band sometime afterward. After producing a demo tape, co-founder Ricciardi left the band and was replaced by Peter Heppner. Heppner had known the band from mutual friends and from growing up in the same neighborhood in Hamburg. Oliver Reinhardt departed the band, leaving the current lineup as Peter Heppner (vocals) and Markus Reinhardt (electronics).

Chicago's I:Scintilla (pronounced eye-sin-til-uh) have jumped from recording demo songs in a bedroom to collaborating with some of modern music's best artists and releasing music on an international level. Fronted by Brittany Bindrim (vocals/words) and backed by Jim Cookas (guitar/programming), Vincent Grech (drums), and Chad Mines (bass), the group seamlessly fuses electronic and rock elements while pushing the boundaries of pop music. Hole - Live Through This

In 1993, Hole entered the studio to record their major label debut. The result was the album Live Through This, which included the hit singles "Doll Parts", "Violet" and "Miss World".

Almost immediately before the album's release, the final song, "Rock Star", was deleted from the album and replaced by the outtake "Olympia". It was widely believed at the time that this was because its lyrics, which included the lines "How would you like to be Nirvana? / So much fun to be Nirvana / Barrel of laughs to be Nirvana / I'd rather die", appeared inappropriate in the wake of Cobain's suicide. However, it was later revealed that the band and the Geffen label had already deemed the track unfitting of a major label debut for Hole, as the song had a very "non-artistic" character which fit poorly with the rest of the album. After the decision to remove "Rock Star" was made, the album artwork and various other inserts had already been printed, and since "Olympia" was put in its place, "Olympia" is called "Rock Star" on the artwork.

Live Through This was released in April 1994, one week after the death of Love's husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Two months later Hole bassist Kristen Pfaff died of an apparent overdose. On September 1, 1994, Hole played their first headlining show since the album's release and dedicated it to Kristen. The band, with Melissa Auf der Maur now on bass, toured extensively throughout 1994 and 1995.

Coven - Witchcraft

Coven is a psychedelic rock band, composed of vocalist Jinx Dawson, bassist Oz Osborne (not to be confused with Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath) and drummer Steve Ross.

Jinx Dawson was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana who began studying opera and the occult in the late 1960s. She, Ross, and Osborne formed Coven in Chicago in the late 1960s. They were signed to Mercury Records, where they put out their first album, Witchcraft (Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls) in 1969. The music on the album was, for the most part, standard pop psychedelia; what made it distinctive was the heavy emphasis on diabolical subject matter, including songs such as "The White Witch of Rose Hall", "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge", and "Dignitaries of Hell". The album concluded with a 13 minute track of chanting and Satanic prayers called "Satanic Mass".

This content was considered highly unusual for the time. Unwanted publicity came to the band in the form of a sensational Esquire magazine article entitled "Evil Lurks in California," which linked counterculture interest in the occult to Charles Manson and the Tate-La Bianca murders. As a result, Mercury withdrew the album from circulation.

In case you haven't noticed by the five new uploads today, I am back online! My cat spilled soda on my laptop and totally fried it, so I was out an internet connection for quite a while. But now I am on my father's old desktop with new music to share and I'm jumping back in - full force!

Duran Duran - Red Carpet Massacre

Today I got my hands on Duran Duran's new album, Red Carpet Massacre... and I have to admit, despite mixed reviews, I was quite pleasantly surprised. I won't lie - I've long loved everything Duran Duran and I haven't been this excited about a new album drop since Placebo's Meds.

No, Red Carpet Massacre is not a perfect album. There are some songs that I simply must skip (I don't think I even listened to "Skin Drivers" all the way through), but overall it is addicting - in a good way.

I absolutely loooooooooove the first single, "Falling Down". I keep going back to the track over and over and over again. With my recent feelings of going mad (blame sobriety), it seems to feel just right. Also, the music video is fucking awesome. (Course, maybe that's just 'cause I dig all the chicks. Hahaha.)

My next favorite is "She's Too Much". It's such a sweet, beautiful song. I'd say the song could best be compared to "She Will Be Loved" (that actually inspires me to make a new mix}, but I quite prefer this song. Apparently, Simon wrote this about his daughter, which just makes it even sweeter.

Other great songs are "Box Full O' Honey" and "Dirty Great Monster".

I have a feeling this album will be on repeat for quite a whil

Black Widow was a progressive rock/hard rock band that formed in Leicester, England in September 1969. The band was mostly known for its early use of satanic and occult imagery in its music and stage act. The band is often confused with the better-known heavy metal band Black Sabbath, but the bands were only superficially similar.

Black Widow released their debut album Sacrifice in 1970. Perhaps better known than their music was the band's use of occult references in their music and their live performances, which were made more controversial with the mock sacrifice of a nude woman. The band attracted further controversy by consulting infamous witch Alex Sanders for advice.

The Birthday Massacre - Walking With Strangers

I finally got my hands on Walking With Strangers after trying to find it for the longest time. And quite frankly, I could have gone forever without it. I've long loved The Birthday Massacre ever since I first heard "Happy Birthday". I love the whole cutesy pop meets murder theme that seems to be echoed through-out their first two releases (displayed best on the song Blue).

So... what happened to Walking With Strangers? It's not a horrible album, but it's certainly not intriguing enough to leave me thinking about it even after the music is over. I really couldn't pinpoint exactly what my problem was with the album. The sound is nothing terribly different for TBM, yet it just doesn't seem to work on the new album. If they wanted to sound poppy, they achieved their goal - but not in a positive way. Maybe I'm just critical because I would have loved to hear a new "Lover's End", but had they not taken the same old 80's formula, I could have handled not getting my wish a bit better.
